Mi familia! I love ya!
Seeing all of your beautiful faces on Christmas was the greatest thing. I miss all of you so much, but it was refreshing to see your faces and gave me the boost I needed :)
This transfer has been the hardest transfer of my mission thus far. It has been great being able to jumpstart the area and having the greenie fire that we do and talking to everyone though! We really are so blessed to be trusted with this area. There are people here that need the gospel and we are finding them! The Lord has a plan for His work and we are in the midst of figuring that plan out. We have lots of people to teach, and we just need to catch them when they're home and help them progress! It's the coolest thing seeing peoples countenance change as they keep their commitments and strive to more fully follow the example of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
Lots of cool little miracles this week! One of our investigators was super busy and sad she couldn't see us and then later on she texted us and said she wants to practice what she preaches, but she doesn't know what she's preaching yet! We have yet to teach her a full restoration lesson because we have only contacted her once and talked about the power of the Book of Mormon. It's so cool how the Lord is preparing His children here!
Sister Rawlings and I are great! We have absolutely nothing in common, but we still get along! I love her. She was sick the day after Christmas with the flu so we didn't go out that day. I literally studied all day long! It was great. I read a lot of "A Marvelous Work and a Wonder". It is such a good book! I recommend it to all.
I'm going hiking today at the cedars of Lebanon so that's fun! I'm stoked!
We went out to the boon dogs a couple days ago to contact some people on the ward list with a member and it was super pretty. Just like I imagined Tennessee!
This email is super random, but that's alright.
Can we just talk about how awesome the sons of mosiah are? THEY ARE SO COOL. Ammon just converts King Lamoni, and then King Lamoni and Ammon and Aaron convert King Lamoni's father and they just establish churches in all of the land and then the whole kingdom is converted and then they just love the Lord so much that they hide up their weapons and call themselves the anti-nephi-lehi's as a testimony to God of their repentance. They gave up everything! I love Alma 24:18. They were truly converted unto the Lord (Alma 23:5-8). That's just really neat. I love the Book of Mormon. I love scripture in general. I am a nerd for all things gospel and it's the happiest thing. If only I were as cool and as good of a missionary as Ammon.
I love you all! The work here is going great and is progressing so much!! I hope you have a happy happy new year!
Love,
Sister Boren
